Making Iran a transit and logistics hub requires special attention to transport corridors, and this issue is one of the main policy priorities of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
Speaking about the role of transport diplomacy in achieving this goal, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development stated: “Transport and transit diplomacy is being pursued diligently, thanks to the support and efforts of our colleagues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Strengthening and implementing transport cooperation with neighboring countries is a priority in all our work programs.”
This approach, based on developing regional interactions in the transport sector, is essential for strengthening Iran's position as a transit hub and has been considered at all levels of planning. Speaking about the measures taken in this area, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development emphasized: “These facilitation measures include the addition of 2,000 seats in the airline sector last week, the signing of new contracts with the private sector in the rail, road, and highway sectors, as well as contracts related to the development of the rail network.
