Following recent changes and developments within the Kerman Civil Engineering Organization and the election of Dr. Hossein Amiri Khamkani, a recognized and five-time elected representative of the people of Kerman to the Islamic Consultative Assembly, the management of this complex is entering a new era.
The challenge is to increase the productivity of the units under difficult conditions.
The presence of a board of directors comprised of former governors of Kerman, engineer Mohammad Ali Karimi, and Dr. Morteza Bank has strengthened the management capabilities of the Kerman Civil Engineering Organization and enabled the establishment of a coherent structure to fulfill its primary mission: ensuring the development and management of the country's first special economic zone. The Sirjan Special Economic Zone, initially established as a "dry port supporting Shahid Rajaee Port," has been considered Iran's premier dry port since its inception. This privileged position, thanks to its proximity to Shahid Rajaee Port, its strategic location on the North-South corridor, and its comprehensive logistics infrastructure, constitutes a strategic objective that has once again become the cornerstone of development programs under the new leadership and is being implemented at an accelerated pace.
The presentation ceremony for the "Employee Code of Ethics" took place in the presence of the CEO of the Civil Engineering Organization, board members, and regional officials. This event reflects the organization's new direction, focused on developing human capital, improving the accountability system, strengthening managerial synergy, and increasing productivity.
At the opening of the ceremony, Mr. Asadi, Director of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone, emphasized the need to rethink communication and the management structure, stating: "Transparent communication between the different management levels and the development of a culture of accountability are essential to translating macroeconomic policies into concrete results." Continuing his remarks, Hossein Amiri Khamkani, Director General of the Kerman Development Organization, highlighted the crucial role of human resources and the need for rigorous management within the country's economic context. He stated: "Productivity in challenging situations is our strength.
Our mission is to remove obstacles to production, stimulate investment, and prepare the infrastructure of the dry port and logistics hub so that the special zone can achieve its objectives." Speaking about ongoing projects, he added: “The establishment of a dry port and logistics hub is one of the strategic projects for the Sirjan Special Economic Zone. Negotiations have begun with shipowners and shipping companies in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and we hope that the completion of this infrastructure will strengthen the region’s role in the national supply chain and trade.”
Morteza Bank, referring to the development strategy initiated by Hossein Marashi, added: “The innovative vision that emerged at that time regarding Sirjan’s strengths continues to guide its development. New projects in the fields of solar energy, electronics, and logistics are a continuation of this development-oriented approach, which must be reinforced through ongoing modernization.”
Mohammad Ali Karimi described Sirjan's unique position as follows: “Located at the crossroads of two major national axes, this region benefits from unparalleled logistical capacity. By identifying its weaknesses, strengthening its management team, and seizing investment opportunities, Sirjan can become a major hub for commodity trading.” Following the ceremony, the staff code of ethics, which includes individual, organizational, and social principles, was presented, and the region's administrative staff were honored.
