The People's Representative of Sirjan and Bardsir to the Islamic Consultative Assembly visited the Sirjan Special Economic Zone and inspected the capacities, infrastructure, and operations of several industrial and production units located in the area.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone, Mohammad Motamedizadeh, People's Representative of Sirjan and Bardsir to the Islamic Consultative Assembly, accompanied by Hassan Asadi, Director of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone, visited various sites within the complex and several operating factories yesterday.
During this visit, the MP was briefed in detail on production processes, industrial activities, job creation capacity, as well as the challenges and needs of the businesses in the zone. Among the facilities visited were the Goldiran plant, the sugar refinery, the Razi chemical plant, and several other industrial and production complexes in the region. During the visit, the development of the region's transport and logistics infrastructure, particularly the process of establishing the Sirjan dry port, was discussed. Mohammad Motamedizadeh, commending the measures and efforts undertaken by the Sirjan Special Economic Zone management to launch this dry port, described its creation as a major asset for the economic development of the city and the province.
Speaking of Sirjan's geographical location and its industrial, mining, and commercial advantages, he stated: "The establishment of a dry port in Sirjan can effectively contribute to facilitating export and import operations, reducing transport costs, accelerating the movement of goods, and strengthening the region's position in the country's supply and trade chain."
The representative of the residents of Sirjan and Bordsir to the Islamic Consultative Assembly also emphasized the need to optimize the use of existing capacities in the Sirjan Special Economic Zone and stated: “The development of logistics and transport infrastructure will attract new investments, boost production, create jobs, and expand the activities of industrial units.” Hassan Asadi, Director of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone, also presented a report during his visit on the measures taken, upcoming projects, and the capacities of the Sirjan dry port. Underlining the importance of this project for the region's development, he called on the representative of the people of Sirjan and Bordsir to the Islamic Consultative Assembly to closely monitor the situation in order to remove obstacles, accelerate the implementation of the plan, and optimize the use of the dry port's capacities.
Stating that the region possesses significant production, industrial, commercial, and transit capabilities, the director of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone added: “The completion and development of the necessary infrastructure, particularly in the rail transport and logistics sectors, will enable the Sirjan Special Economic Zone to become a major economic and commercial hub in the southeast of the country.
