Establishment of Priority Foreign Exchange Access Lines for Producers in Special Economic Zones

The Deputy Minister of Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the establishment of "priority access lines" to expedite the provision of foreign currency to producers in special economic zones. He stated, "We are urgently consulting with the Central Bank and the Ministry of Economy to make the allocation of foreign currency to these businesses an absolute priority."
According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of the Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Free and Special Economic Zones, Hamid Ghanbari, during a trip to Qom and a visit to the Salafchegan Special Economic Zone, addressed the difficulties faced by producers in accessing foreign currency and announced the establishment of these "priority access lines."
Emphasizing the need for special support for production units in special economic zones, Mr. Ghanbari stated, “Issues related to foreign exchange allocation, order registration, and the repatriation of exported foreign currency must be addressed as a matter of priority and resolved immediately.” He stated that ensuring producers have access to foreign currency is a top priority, adding, “We are currently consulting with the Central Bank, the Investment Organization, and the Ministry of Economy to ensure that production units can access the necessary foreign currency with minimal disruption.”
The Deputy Minister of Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, “Our goal is to reduce the country’s dependence on imports by providing these industries with timely foreign currency and boosting domestic production.”
Mr. Ghanbari underscored the government’s commitment to attracting foreign investment, stating, “We are committed to fulfilling all legal obligations of investors and fully supporting them so they can produce in the country with confidence.”
Stating that the government's economic diplomacy is focused on joint production and investment, he noted: "This new approach will promote economic growth, job creation, and strengthen relations with friendly countries." During this visit, they toured the production lines and operations of three companies: "Zibanakesh Almas" (wallpaper manufacturer), "Kiacom Pharmed" (cosmetics manufacturer), and "Azin Vera Horan" (manufacturer of interior building facades), and were given firsthand insights into the challenges and problems faced by the production units.
