Kerman Governor: Sirjan Special Economic Zone Moves Toward the Creation of a Dry Port

According to the Public Relations Office of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone, the challenges and difficulties facing the region's production units were discussed at a meeting of the Kerman Provincial Investment Headquarters, held on Tuesday, August 11, chaired by the Governor of Kerman.

At this meeting, Mohsen Vafaei, CEO of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone, presented a report on the region's situation, the capabilities and challenges of the production units, and called for accelerating the removal of obstacles facing investors.

Dr. Mohammad Ali Talebi, Governor of Kerman, then highlighted the important role of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone in the province's development and said, "Regarding the Sirjan Special Economic Zone, we are moving towards establishing a dry port so that this zone can play a major role in supporting the ports in the south of the country, including Shahid Rajaee Port." He emphasized the need for better coordination between the province's executive agencies and the special economic zones and noted, "A closer relationship must be established between the special zones and the relevant agencies so that existing issues and problems can be addressed and resolved more seriously." Talebi also announced his intention to hold a meeting with the Secretary of the country's Supreme Council of Free Zones and added, "At this meeting, issues related to the Sirjan and Rafsanjan Special Economic Zones will be discussed so that the necessary support can be provided to improve the status of these zones."
