The Special Governor of Sirjan County, accompanied by the Mayor of Sirjan and a delegation of deputy mayors and municipal officials, visited the Sirjan Special Economic Zone. After touring various sectors and inspecting the condition of access roads, he met with Hamid Shahsavari, CEO of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone, to discuss the planning and coordination necessary for the opening of the zone's southern gateway.
During this meeting, the upcoming opening of the southern gateway to the Sirjan Special Economic Zone was discussed from various perspectives. Emphasis was placed on the need for effective coordination between the Special Economic Zone, the Governorate, the Municipality, and other relevant agencies to ensure optimal traffic management, security, and the prevention of traffic and public order problems. The opening of the southern gate of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone is of particular importance for access for citizens and residents of the area. It will shorten and make access to the residential area and the Fatima al-Zahra (SA) Hospital more direct. In addition to reducing travel time, this route will facilitate access to medical centers and services for citizens, employees, and residents of the residential area, while also relieving congestion on existing roads.
During this meeting, participants, stressing the need for optimal use of existing infrastructure to facilitate citizen movement, emphasized that the opening of this new road requires rigorous planning and anticipation to manage its potential consequences. Aspects such as vehicle entry and exit routes, traffic management, route lighting and safety, the deployment and coordination of relevant forces, and measures to prevent the creation of weak points and the emergence of security problems were examined. During the meeting, the Governor of Sirjan emphasized the importance of developing access routes and creating adequate infrastructure to facilitate citizen movement. He stressed the need for cooperation and interaction between executive services and urban management, and called for the implementation of necessary measures for the safe and appropriate use of the southern gate of the special zone.
The Mayor of Sirjan also highlighted the positive effects of opening this road, including reduced distances and improved access to the residential area and the Fatemeh al-Zahra (PSL) Hospital. He also emphasized the willingness of the city administration to cooperate in traffic management and the implementation of necessary measures.
Hamid Shahsavari, Director General of the Sirjan Special Economic Zone, explained the measures taken to prepare the southern gate and stated: “This gate will open soon to facilitate access and provide better services to citizens, employees, and residents of the residential area. The Special Economic Zone is committed to ensuring that this measure, in addition to creating appropriate access, is implemented in strict compliance with safety standards, legislation, and traffic regulations.” He added: “The southern gate, due to its location on the access road to Fatima al-Zahra Hospital and the residential area of the Special Economic Zone, can effectively contribute to shortening travel time and facilitating access.” However, optimal use of this route requires cooperation and coordination from all relevant organizations in order to fully benefit from it while preventing traffic congestion, public disorder, and potential security problems.
